FAQ

What is a NZQA Category 1 Provider?

The NZQA External Evaluation and Review (EER) is a process conducted by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) to assess the performance of non-university tertiary education organisations (TEOs) in New Zealand. It’s essentially an independent quality assurance checkup for institutions offering post-secondary education.

New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) awarded us as a Category 1 Provider in the 2023 External Evaluation Review (EER).

What Does This Mean for Mission Ready?

  • High-Quality Education: Achieving Category 1 status underscores Mission Ready’s commitment to delivering a high-quality education. Candidates can have confidence that they are choosing an institution that meets or exceeds rigorous educational standards.
  • Reputation and Trust: For partners and stakeholders, Mission Ready’s Category 1 rating solidifies the institution’s reputation as a trusted and reliable education provider.
  • Recognition of Excellence: This achievement is not just a feather in Mission Ready’s cap but also a recognition of excellence in providing education and training. It distinguishes Mission Ready as one of the top-tier institutions in New Zealand.
  • Access to Funding: Category 1 providers often have enhanced access to government funding and support, which can further improve the resources available to Mission Ready for offering diverse and innovative educational programmes.
  • Global Recognition: Mission Ready’s Category 1 rating in the 2023 EER is globally recognised, elevating the Mission Ready’s visibility and firmly establishing it as a leading educational institution in New Zealand.

No prior coding experience required - how does that work?

Our programme is designed to be accessible to individuals starting from scratch in the field of software development. Here's how it works:

Structured Curriculum

We have a carefully structured curriculum that starts with the basics and builds up to more complex topics. This allows beginners to grasp foundational concepts before moving on to advanced material.

Immersive Learning Experience

With engaging daily lessons, hands-on projects, and interactive challenges, we make sure you're not just learning – you're applying new concepts in real-time. This supportive approach ensures you quickly gain the practical skills you need, all while enjoying the adventure of discovery.

Hands-on Projects

From the start, you work on real-world projects that apply what you're learning in a practical context. This project-based learning approach helps solidify coding principles and practices, even for those without prior experience.

Mentorship and Support

You receive guidance from experienced facilitators and mentors who provide personalised feedback and support. This one-on-one mentoring helps address individual learning needs and overcome any hurdles along the way.

Skill-Focused Learning

The focus is on developing the skills needed for a tech career, rather than just theoretical knowledge. This means that even those without coding experience can build the competencies required by employers in the tech industry.

Besides teaching technical skills, we also include components on career preparation, such as CV writing, interview practice, and networking, which are crucial for transitioning into a tech career.

What is the workload?

Your commitment is crucial.

Full-time students should aim for 30-35 hours weekly, while part-time students should allocate 15 – 17.5 hours per week.

For Level 6, a commitment of 40 hrs per week is essential. No part-time option is currently available.
